T.J. LOVES dressing up in costumes, so Halloween is right up his alley! He can't ever decide which costume to wear, so we were lots of different characters this year. We went to a fall festival at our church (with our friends, the Cox family) where T.J. dressed up as Iron Man. At another Halloween festival we went to, he was Spiderman, and when we went to the Gladney Halloween party, he was "Bones". When we were at Wal-Mart one time, T.J. saw a skeleton costume. Now, I would usually think that was not a really appropriate costume - I'm not into the scary, spooky Halloween costumes. However, T.J. did not see "spooky". He is learning about bones and muscles at his Montessori school, so he just saw bones. After trying to talk him into a couple of other costumes, we settled on "Bones".
T.J. was so funny this Halloween! He is SUCH a shy little fella around lots of people, and his way of playing it off is to act "dead". When he gets really emabarrassed, he'll just fall down on the floor, close his eyes, and stick his tongue out of his mouth. It's usually pretty funny. HOWEVER . . . not so much when his daycare was having their Halloween program. They had a little party and did a Costume Fashion Show and performed a couple of Halloween songs. Well, T.J. REALLY performed - as soon as he saw all of the people in the audience, he fell to the floor in his Iron Man costume, eyes closed, tongue out, and his Mommy got to come pick him up IN FRONT OF EVERYONE and carry him to the back. Oh that little turkey!!
He acutally did the same thing when people came to the door trick-or-treating. Most of the time he liked seeing kids in their costumes and handing out candy, but one time we opened the door, and there were about 8 people out there. T.J. threw the candy he had in his hand in the air, and completely fell to the floor. The trick-or-treaters were quite shocked and Jeff and I just laughed - he can be so funny!! All in all, a great Halloween!!
We also had a great visit from Granna, Pa, Mikey, and Matthew (Megan was jamming out with Justin Beiber, and we SURE couldn't compete with that kind of fun!!) We all went to the Texas Tech Homecoming parade and game. Granna and Pa used to go to those parades and had not been to one in 30+ years so they had big fun!! There were some great floats and we sure had a great time! At the tailgate party, T.J. met the CUTEST little girl, Grace. I have a feeling she's someone he's sure going to want to know when he gets older!!
